Retail Assistant – Clearance Department

Location –Avonmouth, NCEC

Working Hours – 40 hours per week Monday-Saturday

We are currently looking for someone to join the Retail Clearance team on a full time basis. The main focus of your role will be to advise customers on products and to assist them with any queries they may have. The role would suit a confident and enthusiastic individual with previous retail experience who values excellent customer service.  Our clearance area includes end of line products as well as reconditioned machinery.  Alongside customer service the role will involve elements of warehouse duties such as moving pallets and lifting boxes, so it is important you are comfortable with elements of manual work.  

As a Retail Assistant your main responsibilities will be:

  • Advising customers on products and assist customers with general enquiries
  • Serving customers at the tills in a polite and professional manner
  • Handling general merchandising work as required
  • Processing pallets and accurately pricing the items
  • Responsible for keeping shelves stocked and tidy in both the showroom and warehouse
  • Moving and despatching large machines (ex. fridges, etc.)
  • Cleaning machines and products before merchandising
  • Ensuring the store/clearance area looks clean, tidy and professional

To apply for this role your experience and skills should include:

  • Previous retail experience
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Excellent organisation skills with attention to details skill
  • Ability to prioritise your own workload
  • Experience of using Excel, Word and Outlook
  • A Catering background or an interest in cooking would be an advantage but is not essential
