Java Developer – Avonmouth Bristol 

About the role

As part of the Exciting Digital Hub transformation journey here at Nisbets, we are looking for an experienced JAVA Developer. Your role will directly contribute to the organisations technical transformation. You will do this by bringing a passion for technology, especially surrounding the eCommerce space.

The role will see you working in a hands on capacity with expert knowledge in JAVA and ideally with a solid understanding of SAP Hybris technologies alongside the wider technical team. Working alongside our QA function to implement and unit test complex modules, using Hybris and Java, you will also implement SAP Hybris code. Further to this, you will ensure you and your team adhere to best practices and standards. You will also collaborate with various Technical Leads, external SI’s and Architects in relation to where your systems will integrate with others.

You will involve yourself with the wider technical team to ensure that the code delivered is at a high quality and scalable at all times and will form part of an Agile development team within a defined Centre of Excellence with a focus on defining and implementing new and emerging projects & technologies into the business’ technology stack.

About you

As the Java Developer; 

  • You will have at least 3 years experience of Java Development
  • You'll have extensive knowledge of HTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript and its related frameworks
  • Having experience of SAP Hybris is preferable but not essential (or alternative eCommerce platform)
  • You'll have strong MVC experience 
  • You'll be experienced with Agile delivery - SCRUM and DevOps 
  • You'll have good knowledge of development tools such as GIT, Bitbucket, Jira 
  • You'll have good knowledge of SQL (Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL)
  • You will be self motivated/able to work autonomously
