Junior IT Support Technician - Avonmouth, Bristol
About the role
Working within our IT Helpdesk team your role will be to provide technical support to internal customers, assisting them with hardware and software problems via phone, email or onsite. We receive a high volume of tickets and it is crucial we are able to successfully troubleshoot to understand which requirements are business critical and need immediate attention and which ones can be scheduled for a later date. Communication skills are therefore crucial in this role so you can speak to whoever has an issue to better understand their problem and to allocate it accordingly. You will also be team and customer focused with the desire to help co-workers, customers and departments with any technical problems.
Working as part of a team of 5 you will aim to resolve all queries as quickly and efficiently as possible. This may mean resolving queries over the phone or escalating them to technical specialists within the wider IT function.
The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator and logical thinker with an aptitude for problem solving. Listening and learning quickly is key to absorbing the new technologies in use. You will have some technical knowledge but more importantly will be motivated to learn new skills and technologies. You will have a strong work ethic and be available to participate in our out of hours rota also.
