Category Manager (Product Development/ Buying) – Bristol
About the role
We are looking for a commercial Category Manager to lead a cross-functional ‘end to end’ category team within our chemicals category on a 12 month fixed term contract basis. You will develop and execute our category plans to achieve budgeted revenue, profit and margin targets.
You will directly manage a team of 4 direct reports as well as a wider matrix team of between 14-18. We have really ambitious plans to grow the range and commercial success of the category and it is a very exciting time to be joining the business. You will help to develop and evolve a customer orientated strategy aligned across the matrix team for Product, Suppliers, Inventory, Pricing & Ecommerce. Other aspects of the role will include; developing and maintaining strategic relationships with both internal teams (in the UK and internationally) as well as key suppliers and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, including leading/supporting cross-category and cross-functional workstreams.
To apply for this role you will have a demonstrable background within buying/ product management within a consumer focused/ FMCG business and be comfortable working within a fast-paced, changeable environment. You will be commercially astute with developed relationship management, negotiation and project management skills. You will also have an understanding of cross-cultural/ global issues.
